Meanwhile, it is imperative to approach alternative views with an open mind rather than becoming a prisoner of your own myopic (目光短淺的)mental model.

3、腳踏實地、采取有效行動

When looking for a job or pursuing other goals, young people tend to aim high, but not put their thoughts into action (好高騖遠，沒有付諸行動).

在找工作或者追求其他目標時，年輕人往往好高騖遠，而不將自己的想法付諸行動。

What’s worse, they are beginning to adopt a cynical attitude (憤世嫉俗的態度)towards life, complaining about unfairness brought upon them.

The unwillingness to take effective measures for the dream may lead to permanent failure in one’s personal and even affect the development of a country.

Before taking actions ,we should do adequate investigation so as to have a definite object in view and then choose the most suitable way. Otherwise, our efforts will be futile (無效的，無用的).

Any success depends upon previous preparations, and without such preparation there is sure to be failure.

In the picture, there are five men who are pushing blocks. Among them, four are working hard on square ones, and other one is working with ease on a round one. The men working on the round block is way ahead of the rest. Behind him there are some scrapes and a knife stuck into the ground. Obviously, he has cut his square block with the knife into what is now a ball.

The picture is trying to tell us that it is not enough to work hard. One needs to work smart. Many jobs do not just need strength and labor, but need ingenuity (獨創性), too.
